We’re thrilled to announce that the 2021 cycle of the ASAPbio Fellow program is now open for applications. Interested in preprints? Looking to develop your own preprint initiative? Keen to connect with others interested in science communication? Then the ASAPbio Fellow program is for you!
The ASAPbio Fellows program runs for six months and provides participants with tools and skills to drive discussions about the productive use of preprints in the life sciences, so that they can become ASAPbio representatives at their institutions, events or scientific conferences.
Following the success of our first cohort last year, we are delighted to be running the Fellow program again this year. Our 2021 Fellow program is now open for applications until 5 March 2021, the program will run from April to September 2021.
Participants in the ASAPbio Fellow program will engage in a schedule of activities including monthly sessions covering different aspects of the preprint landscape as well as communication and engagement activities about preprints. The program participants will also work on a dedicated project in smaller groups. Fellows can shape their own projects, so if you have been percolating an idea about preprints, this is your chance to work with others to take it forward. For some inspiration, you can read about the accomplishments by the 2020 ASAPbio Fellows here.
The ASAPbio Fellows are also part of the larger ASAPbio Community; by joining the Fellow program, you will have an opportunity to get updates around preprints, connect with others with an interest in science communication and help spark conversations about the benefits and challenges of preprint posting.
You can find additional information on the ASAPbio Fellow program Handbook, or feel free to email us at iratxe.puebla@asapbio.org if you have any questions.
If you do not have time at present to participate in the Fellow program, don’t worry, you can join the ASAPbio Community (here) and receive regular updates about preprints and other opportunities to contribute to ASAPbio activities.
