On May 14, 2026, ASAPbio was joined by members of the Creative Commons team: Taylor Campbell, Senior Manager, Open Data Policy and Governance, and Monica Granados, Director of Open Science, to discuss the Preprint Policy Framework. The Preprint Policy Framework is an initiative launched last year by Creative Commons and ASAPbio, who collaborated with several research funders to align preprint policies and create a standard Framework.

On March 5th, 2026, the ASAPbio and PREreview teams, along with representatives of some PREreview Clubs, gathered to discuss the ins and outs of conducting open peer review as part of a team.  After brief introductions, Daniela Saderi, co-founde... During the September Community Call, we heard from Alex Freeman from Octopus and Gabe Stein from PubPub.  The meeting started with Alex Freeman, who first introduced the Octopus platform. Alex discussed how academic problems all reflect how things are published.

During our recent Community Call, Björn Brembs, a professor at the Universität Regensburg in Germany, discussed problems with the current landscape of scientific publishing. Björn believes that the issue with journals is not accessibility since we have developed many ways to get around paywalls in recent years.

During the May Community Call, we welcomed Dorothy Bishop, Emeritus Professor of Developmental Neuropsychology.
