At our next Community call, on 22 May 2024, we will discuss the use of AI in publishing and preprints. The rise of AI represents a global challenge for all aspects of life. In academia, AI promises to revolutionize scientific publishing and yet presents major problems for publishers and researchers. On the one hand, preprint servers, such as bioRxiv, have recently begun trialing the use of AI generated preprint summaries. On the other hand, preprint servers (& publishers) are struggling with the use of chatGPT in research articles. In this community call we will hear about scite.ai, a platform that is bringing many of the positive aspects of AI to academia and publishing. Additionally, we will discuss the beneficial and negative uses of AI.

Speakers:

  • Josh Nicholson; CEO, Scite.ai
