A recent ASAPbio Community Call (February 26, 2025) was inspired by a preprint titled ‘Mapping the preprint review metadata transfer workflows.’ The preprint is a working group product borne out of the, ‘Supporting interoperability of preprint ... Dear subscribers,
It’s been a while! Here’s what’s been keeping us busy:
New team members
We’re delighted to welcome five new people to the team! From left to right:
Calling all peer review experiments & preprint platforms
We’re collecting information about the technological platforms that support preprints as well as experiments in peer review and commentary (both within journals and operated as independent platforms).
If you notice any missing information, please add it to the linked sheets! Your input will help us as we prepare to release resources covering both of these areas.
Preprint licensing
Communities of researchers are become more comfortable with preprinting, but not necessarily with the varied options available for licensing that work. To help increase awareness of how Creative Commons licensing choices affect preprinters, we collaborated with PLOS and Creative Commons to release two resources on preprint licensing last October: an infographic (reproduced here) and a more comprehensive FAQ.
We encourage these resources to be reused and would love to hear your continued feedback on how to improve them!
News from around the web
